This morning, at approximately 1:00 AM, our officers responded to a breaking and entering of a motor vehicle in progress at Watercourse Circle. Upon arrival, the suspect vehicle was observed leaving the apartment complex.
After attempting to initiate a traffic stop, the driver failed to comply, leading to a brief pursuit. The pursuit ended when officers successfully deployed a tire deflation device.
 
Kaiyona Mone Prevard, 18, of Raleigh, NC, was arrested and charged with Felony Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle. She is currently being held at the Alamance County Detention Center on a $5,000 secured bond.
Three juveniles, aged 15 to 17, were also in the vehicle and will be charged on a juvenile petition.

Train crash pedestrian fatality

Burlington, NC | On June 27, 2024, the Burlington Police Department investigated a pedestrian fatality. Around 8:09 p.m. on Thursday, June 27, officers were contacted by the Elon Police Department regarding a pedestrian who was hit by a train believed to be within Burlington City Limits. Burlington Officers determined that the incident occurred on the railroad west of York Road toward Oak Avenue in Burlington.      
 
The victim in the pedestrian fatality has been identified as Daniel Cameron Wagoner, a 47-year-old male from Burlington, NC.
 
The circumstances surrounding the incident are currently under investigation. Preliminary reports suggest that Mr. Wagoner was walking east on the tracks when the train approached, traveling in the opposite direction, resulting in the collision. The train was traveling under track speed and attempted to alert Mr. Wagoner using the train horn.  
 
Mr. Wagoner was pronounced dead at the scene. The railway was closed for approximately three (3) hours.

Burlington, NC | On June 26, 2024, at approximately 1:14 a.m., Burlington police officers responded to Family Dollar, located at 908 East Webb Ave, Burlington, NC, in reference to a business alarm.
 
Upon arrival, officers found a male, later identified as 26-year-old Hugo Clderon Chavez from Burlington, inside. In addition to a shattered front door there was damage to merchandise and property inside the store.
 
Through the investigation, it was discovered that Chavez had left and returned to the business. Chavez was taken into custody without incident and charged with two (2) counts of Felony Breaking and Entering a business and damage to real property. Chavez is being held at the Alamance County Detention Center under no bond.

Burlington, NC |  This morning, the Burlington Communications Center received a report of a robbery of a cashier at a 7-Eleven gas station located at 2571 Maple Ave, Burlington, NC. Burlington Police responded to the 7-Eleven gas station at approximately 01:34 a.m. They obtained a detailed physical description of the suspect as a white male, approximately 5’10-6’00, weighing around 200 pounds, wearing a neck gaiter concealing his face, a white t-shirt, blue jeans, and a tan hat.  
 
Officers on the scene determined that the suspect had entered the business and demanded the clerk's cash from within the register. The suspect fled on foot, traveling south on Maple Ave. Through the investigation, officers located surveillance footage from the store and a photograph (attached) of the suspect. No one was injured as a result of the crime.

Woman Charged With 2nd Degree Murder After Vehicle Strikes Four Pedestrians

 

On Friday, June 21, 2024 at 10:48 p.m., Deputies and State Troopers responded to a traffic accident on the 2400 block of E. Simpson Rd., Green Level, N.C. Once on scene, Officers discovered that four people in the roadway had been struck by a vehicle.

 

The driver was identified as Tamyiah Lakerria Anderson. Deputies were told that Ms. Anderson drove to the E. Simpson Rd. residence where a physical altercation took place with other people there.

 

Witnesses told Deputies that Ms. Anderson then got into her vehicle and struck four pedestrians, two of whom were dragged by the vehicle killing Brendy Janet Garcia Resendiz, 22, of Graham. The other victim who was dragged was seriously injured. Two other victims had minor injuries.

 

Ms. Anderson crashed her car into a concrete barrier at a nearby mobile home park. Ms. Anderson was transported to the hospital where she was treated for minor injuries and released.

As the result of a larceny investigation involving stolen jewelry and a firearm, information was revealed that both victims had their homes cleaned by James Francis Provost II who is employed by AnD Services, LLC. Some of the property stolen was recovered at pawn shops in Burlington, NC where Mr. Provost II had sold the items.
 
On June 20, 2024, officers with the Gibsonville Police Department, with the assistance of officers with the Graham Police Department, executed a search warrant at 206 Aloha Drive, Graham, NC 27253. This search revealed additional violations of the NC Controlled Substance Act which is being investigated by officers of the Graham Police Department.
 
Provost II was arrested on the following charges on warrants previously issued by the Magistrates Office:
• Larceny of Firearm
• Felony Larceny
• Obtaining Property by False Pretense

Two Charged With Multiple Felonies Believed Related To Drive By Shooting Investigation
 
On Wednesday the morning, June 19, 2024, ACSO Deputies began working with the S.B.I. and Burlington Police Department to locate a suspect in a drive by shooting investigation. Deputies had warrants for Kayden LeCharles Trice who was believed to be involved in the shooting which occurred May 28, 2024 on Spence St, Burlington, N.C.
Deputies learned that Mr. Trice at was at a residence on 721 Center Ave., Burlington, N.C.
Once at the residence, Deputies identified themselves and ordered Mr. Trice out of the house. Deputies confirmed movement in the house but no one at the residence initially complied with commands.
 
The ACSO Special Response Team was utilized because Deputies believed this to be a high-risk warrant service and the threat of weapons in the residence. Crisis Negotiators were able to get a relative of Mr. Trice on the phone with him and have him come out of the house. Mr. Trice surrendered without incident.
 
Deputies learned that an unknown number of persons were still in the residence refusing to come out. Crisis Negotiators contacted the individuals who eventually surrendered. Four additional suspects, two of whom were juveniles, exited the residence and complied with commands to surrender without incident.
 
During the search, Investigators located five firearms, one of which was stolen and another had been modified.
 
Additional items located were a small amount of marijuana and several stolen credit cards. All items were seized for forensic examination and evidence.
Two suspects were arrested and transported to the Alamance County Detention Center.

Burlington, NC | Detectives with the Burlington Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division continued to investigate the shooting that occurred on April 14 on Vanderbilt Court. The suspect in the case, Kayden LeCharles Trice, a 19-year-old male from Burlington, has been arrested.
 
The April shooting left one 17-year-old female victim with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
 
On June 19, Burlington Police assisted the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office, SBI, and ATF with a search warrant on Center Avenue, in which Trice surrendered and was brought in for questioning.
 
Today, June 20, Trice was charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury with Intent to Kill (Felony), Possession of a Weapon of Mass Death and Destruction (Felony), Going Armed to the Terror of the Public (Misdemeanor) related to the shooting on Vanderbilt Court. He was transported to the Alamance County Detention Center where he received no bond.

Burlington, NC | This evening, the Burlington Communications Center received multiple calls of shots being fired within the parking lot of an apartment complex in Burlington. Burlington Police responded to the Brittany Apartments at 706 Huffman Mill Rd, Burlington, NC, at approximately 5:40 p.m.
 
Officers on the scene located a suspect, identified as Michael Bissette, a 22-year-old white/male who is a resident of the apartments. Through the investigation, officers determined there was a dispute between two residents at the apartment complex that escalated when Bissette made verbal threats and fired shots. There were no injuries reported.
 
Bissette was placed under arrest and charged with discharging a firearm inside the city limits, assault by pointing a gun, communicating threats, and going armed to terrorize the public. He was transported to the Alamance County Detention Center and received a $10,000 bond.

On Tuesday, June 4, shortly after 11:00 pm, the Burlington Police Department received a call reporting a robbery in the 600 block of Cameron Street. According to the report, a 61-year-old male Domino’s Pizza delivery driver was the victim of the incident.
 
The victim informed officers that he was robbed by a black male, slim build, no shirt, and wearing blue jeans. The suspect stole money from the victim and threatened him with a firearm. No injuries were reported by the victim. There is no other information available at this time, as our officers are in the early stages of the investigation. More information will be forthcoming as it becomes available.
 
UPDATE:
On Wednesday, June 5, the Burlington Police Department identified Cedrick D. Wright of Burlington, in connection with this incident. Wright was charged with one count of Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon and Resist/Obstruct/Delay. Wright was arrested and transported to the Alamance County Detention Center.

Burlington, NC | On Monday, June 3, at 6:30 pm, the Burlington Police Department received a call reporting a disturbance in the area of 1528 South Mebane Street. This was determined to be an altercation between two parties. A 36 year old female, from Burlington NC, was shot during the altercation. The victim was transported to a local medical facility and is in stable condition.

Burlington officers continued to investigate the shooting incident on South Mebane Street Monday evening and identified Nicole Bond as the suspect.
 
Nicole Bond, a 37-year-old female from Burlington, has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, discharging a firearm in city limits, and misconduct crime of domestic violence.

Burlington, NC | Burlington Police have arrested Joshua Calvin Tapp, a 34-year-old registered sex offender from Roxboro, on multiple charges.
 
On May 8, 2024, detectives in the Special Victims Unit received a report from a concerned Burlington parent who believed their child had interactions with an older adult. Detectives investigated the report and found that Tapp used a social media account to communicate and meet with multiple children.
 
On Wednesday, May 22, Joshua Tapp was taken into custody and charged with:
4 counts of indecent liberties with children
2 counts of solicitation of child by computer
1 count of statutory sex offense with a child under 15
1 count of crime against nature
 
Tapp was transported to the Alamance County Detention Center and received no bond. Detectives continue to investigate this case and believe additional victims and charges may be forthcoming. Anyone who suspects they may be a victim should contact the Special Victims Unit at 336-229-3500.

Upon being medically cleared at a local medical facility, John Michael Rodledo, age 32, of Graham was taken into custody and charged with Second Degree Murder.
He was transported to the Alamance County Detention Center where he was held without bond.

Detectives are currently conducting a death investigation following an incident that occurred at a home in the 700 block of Larry Avenue.
At approximately 4:30 this afternoon, officers responded to a 9-1-1 call at the home and discovered a victim who had sustained injuries related to a stabbing.
The victim succumbed to the injuries a short time later.
We can confirm that the caller involved in the incident remained at the scene after contacting 9-1-1. He has been transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
We want to assure everyone that this appears to be an isolated incident, and there is no immediate threat to the community that detectives have been able to identify. Our detectives are diligently working to determine the circumstances involving the incident.

Report Of Counterfeit Currency Leads To Four Felony Arrests

 

 

From Friday, May 10, 2024 through Monday, May 13, 2024, ACSO Patrol Deputies began receiving reports from businesses in northern Alamance County of counterfeit currency was being used to obtain property, gas, and conversion to real currency. During the investigating, Deputies developed four suspects who all resided at the same location. Probable cause was found to request and execute a search warrant at 724 Morton Dr. Burlington, N.C.

 

On Tuesday, May 14, 2024, the search warrant was executed where Deputies found counterfeit currency, illegal narcotics, and several firearms, some of which were reported as stolen. As a result, the suspects, Kevin Davis, Shannon Davis, Dustin Davis, and Rachel Hall were arrested and transported to the Alamance County Jail.

Burlington, NC | Detectives with the Burlington Police Department have continued the investigation into a shooting that occurred earlier this month. Through the information gathered, detectives believe that the gunshot victim, identified as David Bonilla-Estrada, a 21-year-old male from Burlington, used his vehicle to hit the car that Adrian Matias was driving. Matias, a 19-year-old from Burlington, exited his vehicle and shot at Bonilla-Estrada’s car multiple times.
 
As a result of the new information, Matias has been charged with a felony count of shooting into occupied property resulting in serious bodily injury. He was arrested today, May 21, and transported to the Alamance County Detention Center with no bond. No picture is available.
 
Additionally, David Bonilla-Estrada was served a criminal summons for assault with a deadly weapon.
 
Police believe there was a feud between the two men prior to the incident at the intersection of S. Graham Hopedale Road and Hanover Road.

Burlington, NC | On May 9th, 2024, at 09:50 pm, officers responded to the intersection of S Graham Hopedale Road and Hanover Road regarding a shooting. Officers arrived on scene and observed two vehicles that were involved in a collision. Inside one of the vehicles, officers located a 21 year old male, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was life flighted to a local hospital and is listed in stable condition. All parties involved remained on scene and there are no active threats to the community or surrounding areas at this time.

Man wanted for arson of two mobile homes

The suspect in the arson investigation on Maple Avenue, Jose Oscar Santiago-Dimas surrendered and was taken into custody on Sunday, May 12. He was transported to the Alamance County Detention Center and received no bond.

Burlington, NC | Around 12:30 pm on May 3, the Burlington Police Department responded to two mobile home fires at 2844 Maple Avenue with members of the Burlington Fire Department. Firefighters extinguished the fire and there were no injuries reported.
 
Due to the suspicious nature of the fire, detectives with the Burlington Police Department began an investigation. Jose Oscar Santiago-Dimas, a 45-year-old male from the same residence, was identified as the suspect.

Police are searching for Santiago-Dimas who is wanted for two counts of First Degree Arson and one count of Burning Personal Property.
