Registered Sex Offender Facing Charges

On Thursday, February 29, 2024, a sex offender compliance check was conducted for Michael Allen Flatt at the registered address of Plaid St., Burlington, N.C. Information was obtained that Flatt was no longer staying at the residence and had not been staying there for several months. There was also additional information that Flatt had online identifiers not registered with the ACSO.
Flatt came to the Sheriff’s Office to complete an in-person check-in on Friday, April 5, 2024. Investigators interviewed Flatt to verify that he was not living on Plaid St. During the interview, Flatt stated that he was moving around. Flatt stated that between October and November 2023, he was not at the Plaid St. address.
Flatt was arrested on Monday, April 15, 2024, and transported to the Alamance County Detention Center where he remains.

Shooting at the cul-de-sac of Vanderbilt Ct

Burlington, NC | On April 14th, 2024, at 01:35 am, officers responded to the cul-de-sac of Vanderbilt Ct regarding a shooting. Officers arrived on scene and observed a large gathering and numerous vehicles leaving the area. Inside a residence, officers located a juvenile victim, suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital and listed in stable condition.
There is no other information available at this time, as our officers are in the early stages of the investigation. More information will be forthcoming.

Man arrested and charged with two counts of second-degree kidnapping

The parent relayed to police that the suspect had previously attempted to take the child in an unreported incident.
The suspect was identified as Israel Bryan Galbreath, a 59-year-old male from Georgia, who has also been staying at the Knights Inn. Galbreath has been charged with two counts of second-degree kidnapping and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He was transported to the Alamance County Detention Center and received no bond.
This case remains an active investigation and additional charges are possible as new evidence emerges.

Police Apprehend Burglary Suspects
Burlington, NC | On Friday, March 29, shortly after 3:00 am, the Burlington Police Department received a call reporting several people pulling on vehicle door handles around the area of Commonwealth Drive. Officers arrived and set up a perimeter around the area.
Officers observed a subject leaving a garage and as they approached, the male subject ran and entered a car with another male subject. The car attempted to flee toward a dead end, but lost control and caught on fire. The two subjects ran from the car. One was apprehended quickly and identified as 19 year old James Newton. A K9 track was initiated and the second suspect was successfully located.
The vehicle was identified as stolen out of Graham, NC.
Newton, from Graham NC, was transported to the Alamance County Detention Center and charged with Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle, First Degree Burglary, Larceny, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Injury to Real Property Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile. Newton received no bond.
The second suspect was identified as a 14 year old juvenile. Juvenile petitions related to this incident will be sought.
The Burlington Police Department recently conducted perimeter, K9 track, and drone training in March which contributed to the successful outcome of this case. The department would like to thank the Burlington Fire Department for responding to the vehicle fire, Graham Police Department and Alamance County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance with perimeter units and drone.

Exploitation of a Disabled or Elder Adult through a Position of Trust or Business Relationship

On Thursday, May 18, 2023, the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit began an investigation of elder abuse/fraud. Family members of the victim reported that the victim’s adult daughter, Marilyn Annette Ingram, was using the victim’s funds for personal gain while Ms. Ingram held her mother’s power of attorney.
Throughout the investigation, Detectives developed probable cause to charge Ms. Ingram with Felony Exploitation of an Elder Adult. Warrants were obtained for Ms. Ingram on Tuesday, March 19, 2024. Ms. Ingram turned herself in at the Sheriff’s Office on Thursday, March 21, 2024.

High Point Man Charged With Felony Larceny Of Firearm
On Thursday, November 9, 2023, Deputies began an investigation of larceny of a handgun. The victim reported that he recently had two movers in his north Burlington residence and suspected the gun was taken by one of them.
Throughout the investigation, Detectives developed probable cause to charge one of the movers with the larceny. Warrants were obtained for the arrest of Donald Fitzgerald McInnis. Mr. McInnis was located and arrested on March 11, 2024 by the High Point Police Department. Mr. McInnis was transported to the Alamance County Jail later the same day.

Graham Man Charged With Larceny Of Power Equipment After B&E

On Friday, February 3, 2024, the larceny of a pressure washer and generator from a residence in northern Alamance County was reported to the Sheriff’s Office. The victim stated that he suspected a nearby neighbor may have taken the equipment.
As the investigation continued, Detectives developed a suspect identified as Timothy Lee Mooney. A short time later, the pressure washer was located nearby at a residence belonging to a relative of the suspect.
On March 7, 2024, Detectives learned that the generator was sold by the suspect at a pawn shop in Greensboro. Warrants for arrest were taken out on Mr. Mooney.
On Wednesday, March 20, 2023, Mr. Mooney was arrested by ACSO Patrol Deputies. Mr. Mooney was taken to the Alamance County Jail where he was also served with warrants on narcotics charges.

Burlington Man Charged With Felonies After Report Of Home Invasion

On Friday, March 8, 2024 at 4:25 p.m., Deputies responded to a report of home invasion in the 800 block of Deep Creek Church Rd., Burlington, N.C. On arrival, residents of the home stated that Dalessandro Razhyel Alberto came to the home in search of his ex-girlfriend, entered the residence without permission, and fired three rounds into the floor of the home. No one was injured.
Deputies were told that Mr. Alberto fled in his personal vehicle. Mr. Alberto was spotted by Deputies who conducted a traffic stop. Mr. Alberto was arrested and transported to the Alamance County Jail.

****Lennard Johnson, the suspect in the house fire incident at 512 Maple Avenue, has been apprehended by Burlington Police. Johnson, aged 38 and a resident of the same address where the fire occurred, was taken into custody late Wednesday, March 20, and has been charged with four counts of First Degree Arson. These charges correspond to each occupant of the house at the time of the fire.
Johnson was transported to the Alamance County Detention Center and given a $200,000 secured bond. An updated photo is attached.
Correction: The address of the house was incorrectly identified as 612 Maple Avenue. The house fire occurred at 512 Maple Avenue.****

Attempted murder investigation

From: Haw River Police Department
Incident: Attempted 1st Degree Murder, AWDWIK, Shooting into Occupied Vehicle, Discharging a weapon in city limits.
On February 10, 2024, at around 1:47 am officers with the Haw River Police Department responded to a report of shots being heard around East Main Street, and South State Street. Officers arrived on scene to determine that there were multiple bullet casings in the roadway. Through the preliminary investigation it was determined that an incident involving weapons and two vehicles started in Burlington City Limits and continued into Haw River.
On the afternoon of February 10, 2024, two juveniles were identified as being involved in this incident and petitions for Attempted 1st Degree Murder, Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill, discharging a Weapon into an Occupied Vehicle, and Discharging a weapon in city limits were issued by the Department of Juvenile Justice. Both juveniles were taken into custody on this date and transported to local juvenile detainment centers.
Upon further investigation of this incident, it was determined that there was a third juvenile involved who was positively identified on March 12, 2024. A Secure custody order was issued for their detainment for the above listed charges as well by the Department of Juvenile Justice.
On March 13, 2024, with the assistance of the Alamance County Sheriff’s Department Special Response Team (SRT), and the Graham Police Department, Haw River officers executed a search warrant on Cornelia Drive in Graham, NC as a part of this investigation. The third juvenile offender was taken into custody at that time without incident. A reported stolen firearm was also recovered as a part of this search warrant execution.
Haw River Police Department would like to thank the following for their assistance in this investigation: Alamance County Sheriff’s Department, Burlington Police Department, Greensboro Police Department, Graham Police Department, The Alamance County District Attorney’s Office, and The Department of Juvenile Justice.
At the time of this release all three juveniles are being held in detention facilities awaiting court proceedings.

Apprehended three individuals for drug trafficking in Alamance County
ALAMANCE COUNTY, NC | The Alamance Narcotics Enforcement Team (ANET) apprehended three individuals for drug trafficking in Alamance County. Based on information provided by the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office, investigators pursued leads and established probable cause to suspect the involvement of multiple individuals in the distribution of narcotics.
On Wednesday, March 13, 2024, members of ANET executed a search warrant at 301 Trinity Court, Elon, NC. As a result, over 30 pounds of marijuana, multiple handguns, bulk currency, and drug paraphernalia were seized.
The following men were arrested and charged:
Wesley Jordan Lotharp – a 26-year-old male of Greensboro; Lotharp was charged and arrested with two counts of trafficking marijuana, two counts of possession of firearm by felon, possession of stolen firearm, maintain a dwelling for sale of controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia.
Dorset Arthur Creese – a 27-year-old male of High Point; Creese was charged and arrested with two counts of trafficking marijuana, possession of stolen firearm, maintain a dwelling for sale of controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia.
Jasoni Cortz Guyton – a 25-year-old male of Greensboro; Guyton was charged and arrested with two counts of trafficking marijuana, possession of stolen firearm, maintain a dwelling for sale of controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia.
All three offenders were transported to the Alamance County Detention Center and received no bond.

Gibsonville Man Charged With Possession of Firearm by Felon

On Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 3:50 p.m., Patrol Deputies responded to the 4300-block of Jug House Rd, Gibsonville, N.C., after receiving a report of trespassing on private property. On arrival, Deputies discovered a pick-up truck stuck in the front yard of the property owner. Deputies were told by the property that he approached the driver of the truck with intentions to assist when the driver displayed a shotgun.
As Deputies approached the truck, the driver got out and began walking towards the wood. The driver was detained and identified as Kevin Alfonzo Graves. Mr. Graves is known by deputies to be a convicted felon. A firearm was located in the truck he was operating. A search warrant was executed on the vehicle to and the firearm was seized.
As the investigation continued, Deputies obtained an additional search warrant which was executed at Mr. Graves’ residence near Gibsonville, N.C. where additional firearms were found.
Mr. Graves was arrested and transported to the Alamance County Jail where he remains.

Mebane Man Charged With Assault On Pregnant Woman

On Tuesday, March 5, 2024, the Sheriff’s Office Special Victim’s Unit (SVU), began an investigation regarding a report of an assault on a female which allegedly occurred near Mebane Oaks Rd., Mebane, N.C. Detectives learned that the victim was 38 weeks pregnant when the assault occurred. The victim was transported to a local hospital.
During the investigation, Detectives identified Caleb Steven Dunman as the suspect. Warrants were taken out on Mr. Dunman for assault and domestic violence.
ACSO Detectives learned that the Orange County Sheriff’s Office arrested Caleb Steven Dunman on an outstanding Order for Arrest. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office was contacted and advised of the outstanding Warrants for Arrest on Caleb Steven Dunman. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office served the ACSO Warrants for Arrest.
